About Us - School Profile
Tyrrell College is a Prep to Year 12 education provider. It was formed in 1994 from combining Berriwillock, Nandaly and Sea Lake Primary Schools and Sea Lake Secondary College. Drawing on a tradition of sharing and co-operation, and a history of innovation, these schools recognised that merging on a single site would provide enhanced educational opportunities.
Tyrrell College is located in Sea Lake, a small Mallee town on the Calder Highway. This close knit rural community is well served by excellent recreational facilities and community resources. The College offers a wide range of opportunities to learn and contribute beyond schooling. The College has a student population of 180 from Prep to Year 12. It currently has 25 teaching staff and 7 Educational Support staff. It has a leadership structure of Principal, Assistant Principal and 4 Leading Teachers. Tyrrell College is focussing on the improvement of teaching and learning to help improve the generally sound educational outcomes of the students. This has provided the impetus for a change in Leadership structure with a focus clearly on Teaching and Learning.
